Miniature Wheat Hot rolls

Dissolve one packet of yeast in 1 cup of water. Stir in two Tablespoons (or 6 teaspoons) sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and one large egg. Beat with a spoon until smooth. Add 2 Tablespoons shortening, 1/2 cup Wheat Chex (which you need to CRUSH FIRST), and 1 1/2 cups of white flour and 1 cup of whole wheat flour. Mix until smooth. Beat; cover and let rise 30 minutes. Beat. Spoon off balls into sprayed mini muffin tin, about half full. Let dough rise again 20 or 30 minutes. Bake for 12 minutes at 400 degrees. Makes 3 1/2 dozen mini rolls, three rolls per serving.
