I made this and absolutely loved it - very tasty - used cannelini & black beans instead of kidney beans, and used yellow, orange & red pepper instead of green - 6/5/07

I loved it; so did my fiance! I had never made chili before, but this was delicious. Instead of 2 (28 oz.) cans low sodium tomatoes in puree, chopped & 1 (6 oz. can) low sodium tomato paste, I used 1 1/2 cups of diced tomatoes & 2 small cans of tomato sauce. I also used 3 cubes of beef bouillon. - 5/30/08

This was Amazing! We cooked on a cold blustery evening & served up our married daughters family & they devoured it! We plan to freeze the rest in ziplocs according to serving size to pull out for a quick lunch.

    How much is a serving .. 1 cup? - 11/27/07

I don't usually like chili, but this is awesome! I made it in the crock pot so it was ready when I came home from work. Great recipe for cold days. - 11/27/07

It is a very mild chili. Needs some spicing up for me, but nice basic flavor, and the turkey really absorbs the flavors around it. - 11/4/07

this is in response to those who wondered how large a serving is: either weigh the entire completed recipe or measure it out in a measuring bowl. As for the large amount it makes .. half the recipe or freeze some of it in measured portions for a quick meal in the future. - 5/19/09

I made this some time ago when I first joined. Just came back to Spark People; this is the first recipe for which I searched. Plan on cutting the water, for thickness and spreading it over some crinkle fries, topping with cheese! - 1/29/09

Very Good my husband even liked it , he's not a fan of chili's
I liked it a little hotter and added more chile for my serving. Didn't have lentils on hand so look forward to trying it with lentils next time.

Good Stuff! I mix it up. Sometimes I'll throw in a littlle celery if I have extra, just for mouth feel and crunch. - 5/19/09

I added a can of hot Rotella like I normally do when I make chili and it turned out fine. Plenty of spice and even more when I leave the Cha lu la sauce on the table - 5/19/09

I was going to comment on the lack of "serving size" but the last person said it better than I could! My HUGE pet peeve about most of the recipes I see here.

I, too, use black beans and red or yellow peppers. Toss in a sliced or chopped hot pepper and yer good to go! - 11/15/07

This is a favorite at our house. Sometimes I vary the beans depending on what is in the cupboard. The lentils add fiber as well as nutritional value. I find it very satisfying - 9/5/17

I made this with extra lean ground beef. I like the addition of the lentils. - 12/14/11
