Tofu Cacciatore (South Beach)

Ingredients
1 lb firm light tofu - cut into 1/2" slices1/2 medium onion - sliced1/2 red bell pepper - sliced1/2 green bell pepper - sliced1 large clove garlic - minced1 t dried basil1 t dried oreganopinch allspice1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
Directions
Dry sliced tofu.

Coat skillet with nonstick spray and cook onion and peppers approximately 5 minutes. Add garlic and spices, then cook 1 minute while stirring. Add tomatoes and bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes.

Brown both sides of tofu slices in skillet coated with nonstick spray approximately 3 minutes, then place in baking dish and cover with tomato sauce.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
