Cathy's Cajun Chicken Pasta

4 oz whole wheat linguini or spaghetti4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips2 tsp cajun seasoning1 tbsp oilive oil2 cloves of garlic, minced, or 2 tsp of garlic puree1 cup diced green bell peppers1/2 cup diced red bell peppers2 cups sliced mushrooms1 green onion, minced1/2 cup light cream cheese1 cup of skim milk or almond milk1/4 tsp of salt1/4 tsp dried basil1/4 tsp lemon pepper1/8 tsp fresh ground black pepper2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Cook pasta according to directions; drain. Meanwhile, place chicken and cjun seasoning in a bowl and toss to coat. Saute chicken in olive oil until tender, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add garlic, peppers, mushrooms, and spices. Cooks for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp. Cut cream cheese into 1 cm squares and add to pan. Turn off heat and add milk. Stir until all cream cheese has melted. Reheat briefly if needed (do not boil). Pour sauce over pasta and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
