I have made this recipe twice. The first time I made it exactly as submitted. We thought that the breadcrumbs were overwhelming and took away from the macaroni and cheese. We substituted 1/2 cup Panko for the breadcrumbs and used 1/4 cube of melted butter. Very Good. A keeper! - 2/7/11

I made this recipe to the t but left out the bread crumbs. And I baked my chicken for 25 minutes at 350 instead of boiling the chicken. Overall a good recipe! Thank you for sharing! - 3/8/19

Sodium count is off the charts for healthy eating. Pepper jack cheese is way too spicy. I subbed farmers cheese and skipped the latter. - 3/27/18

This was good i would add sum broccoli next time. I used the creamy Velveeta cheese in the pouches. - 6/6/17

Made this for the family and it was a hit. Took the advice of another Sparker and reduced the breadcrumb quotient - 4/2/17

Great! I used canned chicken with liquid instead of bouillon cube, seasoned with Mrs. Dash. Instead of minced garlic, I sautéed a diced onion and chicken. Instead of pepper jack, I used shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and instead of bread crumbs used panko crumbs. Thanks for sharing. - 3/8/16

I am in love! Tastes so naughty! I did add extra chicken and use whole wheat noodles. - 2/12/14

Boyfriend said "it's very good". Yay! a new one for the dinner rotation. Like mentioned before, I would cut down on the breadcrumbs as they were a bit overwhelming. Oh and I made this a little easier by using canned chicken. - 5/24/10

Sounds lovely but what's a 'stick' (ie.half a stick of pepperjack) British reader so not sure what you mean, thanks - 5/19/10

I mean the length it is normally packaged in. Other than butter, I have it listed in oz, so if your package says weight you can judge by that. The stick of butter was 4 oz. Sorry about the breadcrumb overage! It's just that my mom's always made chicken casserole with tons of it so I love it.
