Basil Cream Sauce (sallie Y. Williams)

Ingredients
Butter, salted, 0.5 stick Garlic, 5 cloveHeavy Cream, 1 cupParmesan Cheese, grated, 0.33 cup Basil, 0.33 cuPepper to taste
Directions
Melt the butter in a medium size sauce pan over low heat. Add the garlic, raise the heat slightly, and sauté until soft, being careful not to let the garlic burn, about 3 minutes. Lower the heat again and stir in the cream and grated cheese. Simmer for ten minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened. Then stir in the basil and season with pepper. Heat throughly, about a minute, and serve very hot over pasta, squash or fish with more freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
