Grain and Nut whole Wheat Pancakes

Ingredients
1 1/2 c. old-fashioned oatmeal1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour2 tsp baking soda1 tsp. baking powder1/2 tsp. salt1 1/2 c. buttermilk1 c. milk1/4 c.vegetable oil1 egg1/3 c. sugar 3 tbsp. chopped nuts
Directions
Grind the oats in a blender or food processor until fine. in a large bowl, combine ground oats, whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, combine buttermilk, milk, oil, egg, and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. mix wet ingredients into dryw ith a few swift strokes. stir in nuts, if desired.

Lightly oil a skillet or griddle and preheat it to medium heat. ladle 1/4 c. of the batter onto the hot skillet; cook the pancakes for 2-4 minutes per side, or until brown.
