Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
3 cups of dried split peas1 lb of diced up ham steak3 stalks of celery, chopped fine3 carrots, chopped3 cubes of chicken boulion1 large onion, minced
Directions
Soak split peas in water over night. Rince the peas when you are ready to cook and add enough water to the pot to cover peas, 2 inches above (approx 3 quarts), add boulion. Simmer for 2 hours. Add ham, onions, celery and carrots. Simmer for another 1- 2 hours until all vegetables are tender and peas turn to mush. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
