Indian Spiced Couscous

Ingredients
1 C water1/2 C dried fruit bits (such as Sunmaid)2 tsp light butter1/4 tsp salt1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper1/4 tsp ground turmericdash of ground cardamom1/4 tsp ground cinnamon1/2 C whole wheat or plain couscous, uncooked3 T thinly sliced green onions
Directions
Combine first 8 ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in couscous, return to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low; simmer 2 minutes or until water is absorbed.

Remove from heat; add green onions. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Fluff before serving. Serving Size: 3/4 Cup.
