Perfect Granola Bars

4 C rolled oats1 tsp. cinnamon1 tsp salt1 C dates (substitute mini cho. chips if desired)1/4 C sunflower seeds (sub. pecans, almonds or peanuts if desired)2 large egg whites4 tsp. canola oil (substitute 2 T peanut butter if desired)1/3 C maple syrup1/4 C honey
In food processor, process 3 C of the oatmeal until fine. Combine all oats, salt, cinnamon, dates, seed. In small bowl, beat egg whites until soft. Stir oil, honey, and syrup into oat mix, then fold in egg whites.
Spray 9X13 pan with cooking spray. Press mixture into pan. Cut into 18 bars with knife before baking. Bake until light brown. Remove from oven and cut again.
I calculated the calories if you substitute the peanuts, peanut butter and chocolate chips and it comes out almost exactly the same.
