Pinto beans (Charro style)

Ingredients
1 pound dry pinto beans (or 5 cups canned)1 T salt4 tsp minced garlic2 tsp cumin1/2 tsp red pepper1/2 tsp black pepper1 c. chopped onion3 green onions chopped1/2 link of smoked sausage chopped fine1 can diced tomatoes1 bunch cilantro chopped1 jalapeno choppedwater to cover beans
Directions
Rinse and soak dry beans overnight. Season with dry seasonings and cook beans until done. Add fresh ingredients and stew until ready to eat.

Yields about 10 cups of beans. Serving size 1 cup.
