Warm Apple Compote

Ingredients
3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced1 c. apple juice, unsweetened1T brown sugarcinnamonnutmegfresh lemon zest1 T. cornstarch
Directions
Combine all ingredients in saucepan except cornstarch. Cook, covered ,over medium heat until apples are done. Mix cornstarch with a small amount of water and stir into compote, stirring while adding.

Serve warm over whole grain pancakes. Can be made ahead and warmed before serving.
