Sugar-Free Chocolate Syrup

Ingredients
1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powderpinch cinnamon1 1/4 cup water1 tsp vanilla extract1/2 tsp liquid stevia or 1/2 cup Splenda or any other artificial sweetener to substitute for 1/2 cup sugar
Directions
1. In a heavy saucepan, combine cocoa powder, cinnamon and water. Stir or whisk until smooth. Stir and cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
2. Reduce heat and boil gently for 5 minutes, stirring often. Mixture should be thick and smooth. Cool slightly, then stir in vanilla and sweetener (adjust to taste).
3.Pour into a container or jar with a lid. Cover and store in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

Makes approximately 16 1-Tablespoon servings

    This is thin, but better than a recipe I tried with Splenda. I have not liked the bitterness with Splenda mentioned in comments - but found the Liquid Stevia to be more satisfying. Did not use more than than recommended. Try liquid stevia or other alternatives! - 2/18/15

    I really enjoy this. I agree that it is pretty bitter with only 1/2 cup Splenda, but it is suggested that you adjust the sweetness to your taste. Very good, thank you! - 4/14/12

    I think this was bitter; I added twice as much splenda as the recipe called for so it was ok then. I appreciate you posting it, though. I was looking for a sugar free chocolate syrup. - 2/22/11
