buttermilk biscuits

1 1/4 tsp instant yeast1/4 cup white sugar1 1/2 tbsp warm water3 cups all purpose flour1/2 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp fine salt1/2 cup margarine, cold, cubed1 cup buttermilk, 1%
mix yeast, water and a pinch of sugar, set aside
sift flour, soda, powder, salt
cut margarine into flour, form rough crumbly mixture
add buttermilk to yeast, stir, add to flour
form a ball or disc of dough, wrap in plastic, chill over night
roll out on floured surface, roll to 1/2 inch thickness, fold over to double, press together gently, cut 2 inch rounds to make biscuits
makes about 12, might need to re-roll dough
bake for 10-12 minutes at 425
folding over to double creates a seam for easy cutting in half, they just pop apart
really good with some butter and jam for breakfast
