Apple Squares

Filling12 cups peeled,cored,and sliced apples3/4 cup sugar3 Tbs corn starch1/2 tsp cinnamon1/4 tsp nutmegCrust2 cups flour1tsp salt2/3 cup butter2 egg yolks1 Tbs lemon juice1/4 cup cold waterGlaze1 cup powdered sugar1 tsp vanilla1 or 2 Tbs milk
cut apples in to a large bowl. Add corn starch, sugar and spices mix well
Cut butter in to the flour and salt. Mix until small pea shape is in flour then add yolks,lemon juice and water. blend together and shape into 2 balls. Roll one ball into rectangle to fit 9x13 pan. Put into pan and add apples.
Roll the other ball into the top for the apples. Cut slits to let out steam and put into the oven at 400 degrees for approximately 40 minutes. May take longer or shorter according to what apples you use.
Glaze while still warm.
Cut into 12 rectangles
