Ingredients
1/2 lb. ground beef2 tbsp fat2 medium onions, sliced thin1 cup shredded cabbage1/2 cup celery2 cups of water1 tsp chili powdersalt & pepper, optionalMashed potatoes, 3 cups
Directions
Brown ground beef in hot fat over med. heat; add onions, cabbage & celery; cook until yellow. add water to cover, about 2 cups; simmer 15 minuties. Add beans, tomatoes, and seasonings; cook 15 to 25 minutes. Serve in bowls topped with spoonfuls of mashed potato. Makes 8 servings. Can be made with other meats or without meat.
