Venison/Pork Helper

Ingredients
1 lb. ground venison1 lb. ground pork1 small onion1 can of rotel2 cups long grain brown rice, uncooked5 cups of hot tap water2 Tbsp. dried basil2 tsp. dried oregano1 tsp. ground thyme3 tsp. minced garlic1 Tbsp. granulated garlic1 Tbsp. onion powder1 tsp. course kosher salt (optional)
Directions
I just browned the meat with the garlic and onions. When it's almost done I add all of the other spices. I rinse and drain the meat and add it back to the skillet. Get it nice and hot again, add 5 cups of water and 2 cups of long grain brown rice. Put a lid on it, turn it down to a nice, steady simmer, and cook for 40 minutes or until rice is done.
