1/4 cup raisins, chopped1/4 cup currants1/4 cup chopped nuts1/4 cup wheat flour4 tablespoons butter, softened1/4 cup warmed honey13 cup molasses2 eggs, well beaten1/4 cup sour cream or plain yogurt1/2 tsp. salt1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour1 teaspoon soda1/2 tsp. cream of tartar1 teaspoon cinnamon1/2 tsp. ground cloves1/4 tsp. nutmeg1/4 tsp. mace (optional)
preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9 inch square pan.
Mix raisins, currants, nuts and flour. Cream butter, add honey, molasses, eggs, sour cream or yogurt and salt. Beat well.
Mix flour, soda, cream of tartar and spices. Beat well, then stir in floured fruits and nuts.
Spread in the prepared pan and bake about 15 minutes until top is firm. While still warm, cut into squares or bars.
