Crockpot Sloppy Lentils

Ingredients
1 medium-size yellow onion, chopped 1 small red or green bell pepper, seeded and chopped 1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped (optional)1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder 1 1/2 cups dried brown lentils, picked over and rinsed One 14.5-ounce can crushed or pureed tomatoes 3 cups water1 tablespoon prepared mustard 1 tablespoon light brown sugarFreshly ground black pepper
Directions
In a med sized non stick skillet, over med heat, add onion and peppers. Cover and cook until softened, stirring often 5 min. Add chili powder, stirring to coat. Transfer to a 5 or 6 qt slow cooker. Add all other ingredients, cover and cook on low setting for 8 hrs.
