Chocolate and Orange Pecan Shortbread

1 1/2 c unsalted butter, softened1 c sugar2 Tb grated orange peel1 ts vanilla1 ts orange extract3 1/2 c ap flour1/4 ts salt1 1/2 c finely chopped pecans1 c mini semisweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until combined. Beat in orange peel, vanilla and orange extract. On low speed, add salt and flour. Mix in pecans and chocolate chips.
Divide dough into flat disks and wrap in plastic wrap.
On a floured surface, roll unwrapped dought to 1/2 inch thick and cut into 2 inch rounds with plain or fluted cookie cutter. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 15-19 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Remove to cooling rack.
