Drunken Cranberry - Honey Sauce

1 ½ cups fresh or frozen cranberries½ cup unsweetened applesauce½ tsp cinnamon¼ tsp cloves1 tsp dried thyme¼ tsp curry powder½ cup honey1 tbsp brown sugar¾ cup dry red wine (I recommend M. Chapoutier "Les Vignes de Bila-Haut" Côtes du Roussillon-Villages 2008)
Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat. If needed, add just enough water to cover the berries.
Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until half the berries have burst and the mixture is thickened.
