Lite Alfredo sauce

Ingredients
1 can evaporated skim milk1/4 c minced onion1 TB Olive oil3 tsp cornstarch3 TB cold water1 TB fresh garlic1/4 tsp salt1/8 tsp white pepperDash nutmeg1/2 c shredded parmesan cheese
Directions
In medium saucepan, saute onions in olive oil until clear. Add garlic to heat, do not brown garlic. Dissolve cornstarch in water to make a slurry. Add evaported milk and cornstarch slurry to pan, cook over medium heat until thickened, stir frequently. Add salt, white pepper & nutmeg to taste. add in cheese, stir to melt. Serve over whole wheat pasta.
