Mexican Bread

Ingredients
2 cups of warm water1 cup of warmed salsa2 TBS OIL1 TBS honey1 TBS YEAST1 TBS ITALIAN/MEXICAN SEASONINGS: 1 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp of onion powder; 1/2 tsp oregano.3 cups of whole wheat flourMix together and let sponge.Then add: 4 oz of Pepperjack cheeseAdd enough flour to clean bowl and knead 5-6 minutes. You can make an exaggerated [tall] round loaf or smaller loaves. Let rise. Bake 30 minutes @ 375 degrees

    Basically this was a good loaf, but it definitely needed salt! I thought the cheese would do it, but even with all the flavor of the salsa and spices, it was flat tasting until I added salt. But I will make it again-- hubby really liked the final product! - 1/24/11
