HAM GRATIN W/TURNIP AND KOHLRABI

2 Medium Kohlrabi, peeled and thinly sliced2 Medium Turnips,, peeled and thinly sliced1 1/2 cups 1% milk3 T regular flour1/2 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese1 12 oz canned ham, cubed1 cup fresh bread crumbs made from 3 slices whole wheat loaf bread1 T garlic powderBlack Pepper to tastePam butter flavor cooking spray, 3 sprays
Boil turnips and Kohlrabi in water until tender. Drain. Heat milk; add flour and whisk until smooth. Remove from heat and add cheese, cubed ham, and seasonings.
Place Veggies in the bottom of casserole dish, top with sauce. Top the sauce with bread crumbs and spray the crumbs with the Pam.
Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 35-45 minutes
Makes 4 generous servings.
To make the sodium count more friendly, use reduced sodium ham instead of the little canned ham in recipe.
