South Carolina Style Low Carb Bbq Sauce

2/3 cup yellow mustard 1/3 cup splenda1/2 cup cider vinegar 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp chili powder 3/4 tsp black pepper 3/4 tsp white pepper 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp soy sauce 1 Tbsp country crock + calcium 2 tsp liquid smoke flavoring
In a saucepan over medium heat, stir together the mustard, sweetener, cider vinegar, chili powder, black pepper, white pepper, and cayenne pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes.
Stir in the soy sauce, margarine, and liquid smoke; simmer for 10 more minutes. Cool completely, and refrigerate overnight to blend flavors before using.

I always use a tomato based BBQ sauce, but thought since I was on the low carb diet I would give this a try. I was so surprised that it was fantastic! My son also loved it. It was a little thick the second day, so I added a little water to thin it and reheated. Try it, you'll like it - 7/12/11
