Crock Pot Chinese Pepper Steak

1 to 1 1/2 lbs boneless beef round steakflour1 tbsp. cooking oil2 clove garlic minced1 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. pepper1/2 c. soy sauce2 tbsp. hoisin sauce2 tsp. sugar2 tomato, seeded, peeled & diced3 red or green bell peppers, cut into strips3 tbsp. cornstarch3 tbsp. water4 green onions, finely choppedcooked rice
Trim fat from the steak and slice into thin strips.
Dredge beef strips in a small bowl of flour and brown in a skillet with oil.
Drain well and add the steak to a medium sized crock pot.
Combine garlic, salt, pepper, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and sugar in the crock pot.
Cover and cook on low about 4 hours.
Turn control to high and add tomato and bell peppers.
Dissolve cornstarch with water in a small bowl and stir into steak mixture.
Cover and cook on high 15-20 minutes or until thickened.
Sprinkle with onions.
Serve over cooked rice.
