Whole Wheat Applesauce Cake

Ingredients
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray 8x8 pan with Pam. Cream 1/2 cup oil & 1 cup brown sugar (packed) together and, mix in 1 cup applesauce and 1 tsp. baking soda. Add 1-1/2 cup whole wheat flour (un-sifted), and 1 tsp. cinnamon. (add: optional 1/2 cup chopped walnuts). Blend thoroughly. Pour into pan. (If desired spinkle coarse sugar sprinkles on top of batter). Bake for 30 minutes. When cool, dust with powder sugar (if sugar sprinkles are not used).
Directions
Makes 9- 2 inch pieces or 18- 1/2 inch slices.
