Ingredients
1/2 c. vegetable oil1/2 c. white sugar1 c. popcorn kernels
Directions
This only works if you have an oil popper with a stir stick. Do Not Try this on the Stovetop or with other methods.

Pre-measure popcorn and sugar into small bowls.
Add oil to popper and let stir stick coat bottom of popper.
Add Sugar to popper and let slightly dissolve and coat the bottom of the popper.
Add kernels.
Listen for popping to slow.
Once popping has slowed to 4-5 seconds between pops, remove popcorn from popper. If you wait too long, sugar and popcorn could scorch and burn.
Let sit 1-2 minutes and salt to taste. Stir. Enjoy.

Makes 4-5 cups

I use less oil, but appreciate you posting a higher calorie recipe and not a diet-y version. :)

I make it on the stove. I pop the popcorn first. Remove from the pot and let the pot cool for 4 minutes. I add the sugar and popcorn back to the pot and stir to prevent the sugar burning - 12/6/15

Sure tastes good, but I definitely don't need 28 grams of fat! When I make it I air-pop, spray the popped corn w/Pam then sprinkle the sugar and a little salt on it. Saves a LOT of calories. - 4/25/11

This is delicious! The key is waiting until the oil is hot enough and adding the kernels/sugar together. I will say though that it works just as well with less oil. I just use enough to cover the bottom of the pot, maybe just under 1/8 cup and it tastes just as good with much less fat! - 9/22/10

It actually DOES work on the stovetop if you partly dissolve the sugar in the oil first, and then be sure to keep the pan moving over the heat back and forth and hold onto the lid while it pops. - 7/9/08

This is so good and worth the calories when you need something crunchy and sweet and salty - 3/25/08
