Clam Chowder-lower carb

Ingredients
4 cans clams1-2 bottles clam juice6 cups diced turnips1 Med Potato diced4 sliced bacon diced2 stalkd celery diced2 Med onions diced2 cloved garlic diced2 tsp thyme2 bay leaves1 1/2 to 2 cups heavy cream
Directions
Brown diced bacon in large pot. Once crisp, add onion, butter, garlic, celery, thyme, bay leaves and saute till onions are softened but not browned. Add the tunips & potato. Drain the clam juice from the canned clams and add juice to pot , reserve clams. Also add addional clam juice to cover tunips/potatoes. If you do not have enough juice add chicken broth to cover. Boil till fork tender.Remove from heat, add clams & heavy cream. Turn off heat. Allow to sit for flavors to meld up to 1 hour. If neccesasry reheat over very low heat ,DO NOT BOIL.
