Morning Fruit Smoothie
- Number of Servings: 1
Ingredients
Directions
1/2 Banana2 Strawberries15 Blueberries1 Tbsp of Blue Agave Nectar8 oz of Almond Breeze Almond Milk, Unsweetened Vanilla3 Tbsp of Flax Seed Meal1 cup of Ice Cubes (approx)Optional (for thicker smoothie and more Protein);Approx 1 Tbsp of EAS Advant Egde Protein Powder
I purchase ahead of time bundles of Banana's, boxes of Strawberries and Blueberries and portion out into ziplock bags and freeze for easy use and fruit doesn't spoil.
You can use fresh fruit since we are using Ice Cubes also.
To blend the smoothie I use a Kitchenaid Hand Blender - it has a removable lower section that you can place in dishwasher. Or you can use a regular blender.
Place in large cup (that hand blender will fit to bottom) or your blender all the ingredients - just don't put the protein powder in first it will stick to the side.
Blend until smooth - might have to add more Almond Milk if to thick for Stand Alone blender (hand blender seems to do better job).
With the Flax Seed Meal this has enough fiber to fill you up for the morning. Also with 6 grams of Protein it is a pretty good meal replacement.
Also I have added Starbucks Via instant coffee to this to get a caffeine kick - and some coco powder for a change.
