Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

1 cup all purpose flour1 cup whole wheat flour2 teaspoons Baking Powder1/2 teaspoon baking soda1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg2 eggs1 cup canned pumpkin1 cup granulated sugar1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar1/2 cup 1% milk1/4 cup applesauce1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
-Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices until well blended; set aside.
- Beat eggs, pumpkin, sugars, milk and apple sauce in large bowl with wire whisk until well blended. Add dry ingredients; stir just until moistened. Stir in chopped chocolate chips.
- Pour into 9x5-inch loaf pan sprayed with cooking spray.
- Bake 55 minutes to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.

Excellent! I made this last night and brought it in to work and it's getting great reviews! (The carton I brought it in is empty, if that's any indication!) Although I didn't have semi-sweet chips on hand so I opted for chopped walnuts instead. It's very yummy and I'm gonna keep this recipe! - 10/24/07
