Ingredients
1.5 cups of wheat flour1.5 cups of white flour1 tsp. of baking powder1 tsp of salt1/4 tsp of ground pepper4 eggs1 cup of 1% milk2 tbs of butter 1 tbs of minced fresh parsley
Directions
Combint flour, baking powder, salt and pepper in a bowl. Whisk in eggs and milk and beat until the batter is cohesive but is still loose enough to be pushed through a sieve or spaetzel maker to make dumplings with identifiable strands of batter. Add additional flour if too loose or additional milk if too dry.
Bring a pot of water to boiling and reduce to a simmer. Drop tablespoons of the batter into a sieve held over the boiling water to make the dumplings. Remove them when they float to the top of the water. Remove to a platter. Melt butter as needed over a medium low heat in a saute pan.

Thanks for this!!! I grew up eating these made from an old German friend of the family. I made half the recipe with no salt (healthier) and instead of a sieve just plopped them into the water with a spoon (thats how our German friend did it)..they are delicious!! - 3/20/11
