Ingredients
Directions
one whole chicken (we used a natural, free range chicken 2.75 lbs)sea salt (1T)black pepper (1.5t)garlic (4 cloves)olive oil (1T)chicken broth (1c)red wine (1c)onion (1/4 medium)nutmeg (1.5t)sugar (1T raw)cranberries (2c frozen)
Clean bird and pull out anything she may have hiding in her nether regions. You can take the skin off or leave it on. We left it on this time. Rub with salt, pepper, garlic (you can dice or press) and olive oil and place in slow cooker breast side down on high (low will take an hour or two longer).
Add chicken broth, red wine, chopped onion, nutmeg and sugar.
Leave for 4 hours and done. We tried to flip ours and it came apart, because it was so tender.
