German Beef Stew

Ingredients
3/4 pound stew meat - lean2 red delicious apples, medium, cored and grated2 raw carrots, peeled and grated1 onion - small - diced2 teaspoons anchovy paste2 beef boullion cubes1/4 cup dry red wine2 bay leaf 2 tsp thyme2 clove garlic - crushed4 tbsp corn starch1/4 cup water2 tsp kitchen bouquet
Directions
Brown meat

add apples, carrots, onion, bay leaf, anchovy paste, boullion cubes, red wine, thyme, garlic, and stew slowly for two hours.

Mix 4 tablespoons corn starch with 1/4 cup water and add to stew ten minutes before serving, to thicken. Stir in 2 teaspoons Kitchen Bouquet,

Serve over favorite wide pasta noodles sprinkled with poppy seed.
