Chili Con Carne

1 large onion, chopped1 orange bell pepper, chopped1 tsp. olive oil1 lb ground turkey2 cups water2, 14.5 oz cans of diced tomatoes (seasoned - basil, garlic and oregano)2, 16 oz cans of light red kidney beans, drained and rinsed1, 4.5 oz can of chopped green chilies1 cup salsa1 tsp sugarseasoning to taste: chili powderblack peppercrushed red peppercayenneCajun seasoninggarlic powderspicy seasoning
In a large pot, heat olive oil on medium heat, making sure to coat the bottom with it. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook until onions are translucent. Add ground turkey, making sure to crumble it with your cooking utensil as it cooks to make small bits. Cook for about 8 mins, or until the turkey is cooked. Add seasonings, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, green chilies, salsa, sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then turn on low and cover. Let simmer for about an hour and a half. Serve and enjoy!
