Ingredients

1 lbs standing rib roast, sliced paper thin1 - 1 1/2 lbs package tofu, cut into 1 inch cubes1 bunch green onions, cut into 1 inch pieces1 medium head chinese cabbage, cut into 1 inch pieces10 dried Shiitake mushrooms, soaked in water and cut into 1 inch piecesOther vegetables may be added1 lbs Udon noodlesSauce:1 cup low sodium soy sauce1 cup Meline (from Japanese store) or 1 cup broth3/4 cup sugar1/2 cup Sake (rice wine)
Add sauce ingredients to saucepan and heat till boiling.
Prepare table and set hot pot or electric fryingpan into the centre, add sauce, and heat till boiling point. Keep hot.
When all are seated, start cooking by adding meat to sauce, a few pieces at a time, followed by veggies, tofu, & noodles.
When cooked, dip in beaten egg and eat with cooked rice.
