Greek Christmas Honey Cookies-Melomakarona

Ingredients
4 c. flour1 c. oil1 c. butter1/2 c. powdered sugar1 c. warm honey2 jiggers brandyjuice and rind of 1 orange1/2 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. cloves2 tsp. baking powder
Directions
Work flour with oil and butter until creamy. Add the sugar, honey and the remainder of the ingredients. Work the dough with the hands to make a smooth dough (about 20 minutes).
Roll with hands into balls the size of an egg and flatten on 1 side. Bake on a greased baking tray 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
As soon as they come out of the oven, dip in a hot honey syrup made with 1 cup of water, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup of water.
Leave the cookie in the hot syrup for 3 minutes. Drain and sprinkle with chopped walnuts, if you wish.
