Ginger Cookies

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose or plain flour1/4 cup granulated sugar1 tsp. bicarbonate soda (baking soda)1 tsp. cinnamon1 tsp. ground ginger1/2 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. ground cloves3/4 cup softened margarine1/4 cup molasses1 egg, slightly beatenSugar
Directions
Combine first 7 ingredients, mixing well. Cut in margaine to resemble coarse crumbs. Stir in molasses and egg.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls, and roll lightly in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheets; bake at 350'F or 165'C for 10 minutes. Remove from baking sheets immediately; cool on wire racks. (cookies firm as they cool.)
