Low-Fat Applebees French Onion Soup

Ingredients
8 cups Beef Broth1 cup water6 onions sliced thinly3 TBS Olive Oil5 Wonderlight Hamburger Buns10 slices Provolone cheese3.5 TBS salt3 tsp pepper1 tsp garlic or 2 tsp garlic salt
Directions
* Start by cutting 6 onions into thin slices.
* Place onions, garlic, & oil in stock pan on medium-high heat. Allow onions to become translucent (about 20 minutes).
* Stir in Beef broth, water, salt, & pepper
* Allow mixture to boil, then reduce heat to a simmer for 45 minutes.
* While soup is simmering--
**Cut top of hamburger buns to height on bottom of hamburger bun. Throw away tops.
**Place 5 hamburger buns(10 total pieces) on pan in 350 degree oven for approximately 15-20 minutes until they form a cruoton. Set aside until soup is ready.
*Place 1 cup of soup in oven safe dish, top with hamburger crouton, & slice of provolone cheese.
*Place soup in oven on broil setting for approximately 5 minutes until cheese is brown and bubbling.
*Let cool slightly and serve.
