jsk pinto beans with chorizo and smoked ham hock

1 lb dried pinto beans1 lb chorizo sausage1 smoked ham hock1 28 oz can chopped tomatoes1 bunch kale2 red bell pepperssalt, pepper to taste
1. Night before, soak beans in water to cover in refrigerator
2. Morning, add water to beans (4 cups water/1 cup beans). bring to a boil, cook for 10-15 minutes
3. meanwhile, brown sausage
4. Put items into crock pot in order listed
5. cook on low 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally and seasoning to taste
6. before serving, fish out ham hock and pull meat from bones; dice meat and return to dish
7. Serve:
- over rice
- with bread or biscuits on the side
- with corn chips and guacamole
