Ingredients
Directions
1 Block Extra Firm Tofu (NOT SILKEN)2T Tamari/Soysauce1t Garlic Powder1t Powdered Ginger1.33T or 4t Vegetable Oil2T Nutritional Yeast
Place the tofu on a deep plate, or wide bowl. Place another plate or other weight on top of the tofu to compress it, and leav it in the fridge overnight. This drains out a lot of the water in the tofu and helps it to brown and crisp better. Place the Oil in a cast iron or other non stick skillet, and heat over medium high. When the oil is hot, add the tofu. Let the tofu brown on all sides. (This should take about 3-4 minutes a side) While the tofu is browning, mix the tamari, powdered ginger, and powdered garlic. When the tofu is browned on all sides, add the tamari mixture. Immediately turn off the heat, and quickly stir the tofu to coat. Remove everything in the skillet to a bowl and mix with the nutritional yeast. A 14oz of tofu (the way it is typically sold) makes about four 3oz. servings.
