Ingredients

1 cup Butter1 ½ cups Flour½ cup Icing Sugar18 Maraschino Cherries
Combine all ingredients and beat for 10 minutes. Drop by tsp onto cookie sheet. Decorate with 1/2 a cherry. Bake at 350 degrees for approx 17 min. until bottoms are lightly browned.
The trick with these cookies is to use real butter and keep the batter as cool as possible until putting them into the hot oven. Otherwise, they simply collapse into a puddle on the cookie sheet. Try to use more than one cookie sheet so you can allow it to cool before putting the next batch on it to bake.
Makes approx 3 dozen small cookies. These melt in your mouth! The secret is in the beating!
