Crockpot Hamburger Soup

Ingredients
1lb lean ground beef1/2 cup onion, chopped1/2 cup celery, chopped2 cups carrots, sliced1 cup corn1 cup peas, frozen14oz tomatoes1/2 cup barley4 cups water2 bouillon cubes1 tbsp salt1/2 tsp pepper156 ml tomato paste
Directions
Brown meat and onions in frying pan. Transfer to crockpot and add vegetables and remaining ingredients. Mix together and cook on high for 6 hours. Freezes well.

Makes 12 1-cup servings.

    I used ground turkey and it came out a little bland so I added crushed red pepper, oregano, chili powder, cumin and ground mustard which added tons of flavor and it ended up a winner! - 1/23/10
