Greek Lentil Soup (1 cup) (Laurel's Kitchen)

2 cups lentils2 carrots (1/2 cup)1 cup potato1 tsp olive oil1 tsp butter8 cupts water1 tsp saltblack pepper to taste2 tsps cumin powderdash red pepper
1. Saute carrots in olive oil/butter
2. Add potatoes
3. Rinse lentils; add to pot
4. Add 8 cups water
5. Cook 30-60 minutes until done
6. Add spices (salt; black pepper; cummin; red pepper) to taste
