One 1lb bag of pinto beansThree slices of farmland cooked ham lunch meatThree cups of frozen pick sweet seasoning blend Seasoning I like:2 tsp salt1 tsp black pepper1 tsp sage1 tsp celery seed2 tsp cumin2 tsp Tony's Cajun Seasoning
This is a slow cooker recipe
- put beans in slow cooker
- add enough water to cover beans and turn the pot on high
-add your frozen seasoning blend ( you can also chop your own onion, celery, and bell pepper)
- dice up your ham and add it to the pot as well
Season to taste
Try to keep the water level just above the beans, ad stir occasionally after about 7 hours turn the pot to low and cook for another two hours. Serve over rice or eat by them selves either way is good.
