Lentil Soup - Charleston Greek Church Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup dried lentils1 cup tomato sauce4 Tablespoons Olive Oil1 onion finely chopped1/4 teaspoon pepper1 stalk celery finely chopped1 clove garlic finely chopped5 cups water1 teaspoon salt1 1/2 Tablespoon Vinegar (or to taste)
Directions
Sort and wash (dried) lentils. Finely chop onions, garlic and celery. Place in deep saucepan, and add all ingredients except vinegar. Cover and bring to boiling point. Reduce heat and cook slowly for about 1 1/2 hours. Add vinegar.
