Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Ingredients

1 cup onion, diced2 tsp. garlic, or to taste2 bay leaves1Tbsp fresh thyme sprigs1 tsp pepper1 tsp salt1 lb. blade steak [American chuck], cubed1/4 cup flour3 cups potato, cubed1 cup turnips, cubed2 cups carrots, cubed1.5 cups celery cubed3 cups water
Place the onions, garlic and spices in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Coat the beef in the flour [Easily done if you place the flour in a bag, add the beef then shake]
Place approximately half the vegetables in the slow cooker.
Add the beef and flour then add remaining vegatables.
Add water.
Cook on high for approximately 6 hours, or until the gravy is thickened and the vegetables are tender.
Serving Size: Makes 12-2 cup servings
