Lefse

  • Number of Servings: 32
Ingredients
3 cups potato flakes1/4 cup btter or margarine3/4 (approx) cup water1 cup milk1 cup flourCinnamon/sugar mixbutter for spreading
Directions
Place 1/4 cup butter in a 1 cup measuring cup and add water to make a 1 cup measure. Transfer to sauce pan and bring to boil.
Add this to Potato flakes and mix well with fork.

Add milk and mix well. Refrigerate covered with wax paper until mix is completely chilled. (Do not let surface dry.)

When dough is chilled, work in flour with your hands. Form into balls, a little larger than golf ball size, and place in container lined with a towel. Refrigerate overnight.

Roll out very thin and bake on grill preheated to 450 to 500 degrees.

When warm spread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mix. Fold over like a roll up buttering the edges as you go then let cool. Slice in half when cool and enjoy.

Makes approx 16 large lefse, I cut these in half and consider that a serving. Recipe may be multiplied.
