Fat Flush Soup as seen in Woman's World Magazine

Ingredients
2 tsp olive oil 1 1/4 lb lean ground beef, turkey or shredded chicken1 onion, chopped2 cloves garlic, chopped1 bell pepper, seeded and chopped1 can (14 ozs) crushed tomatoes1 bottle (32 ozs) reduced sodium vegetable cocktail juice1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice1 can (14 ozs) beans, drained and rinsed1 Tbsp ground cumin1/8 tsp cayenne1/4 cup each fresh cilantro and parsley, chopped
Directions
**In a stock pot, heat olive oil over medium high heat. Saute meat until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
**Saute onion, garlic, and peppers until soft. About 5 minutes.
** Stir in remaining ingredients, except parsley and cilantro. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Stir in cilantro and parsley. Cover; simmer 10 minutes longer. Store in refrigerator up to 5 days. Freezes well.

    This recipe is not exactly like the Womens world recipe- it leaves out the 8 oz. of mushrooms which are, IMO, very important for taste and heartiness. - 2/21/16

    I make this with ground turkey and high fiber vegetable juice. Have been making this for several years. I am not sure about its fat flushing ability but it is really delicious and filling. I double the recipe and am always glad I did. - 3/9/15
