This was really tasty (though I like more cinnnamon) and moist, but with the honey and molasses it comes to a pretty high calorie count per piece, so I will look for lighter recipes in the future. Thanks anyway, though - if I weren't carefully tracking calories, I'd totally make this a lot! :) - 9/22/12

I love this bread. The cranberries give it a tangy taste. I used whole wheat flour and tosave money ground my flax seeds in a coffee grinder. - 10/11/12

Honey, molasses , white flour AND half a cup of oil.... not healthy in my opinion. Makes only one loaf and then cutting it into 18 slices just to keep the calorie count at 166. - 10/10/12

For anyone that thinks this is good for diabetics Please be careful! It has honey, molasses AND white flour. It may be safer for SOME diabetics if they eat more than a tiny tiny slice and carefully monitor their numbers but not safe for all. Please don't be fooled because it has no sugar in it - 10/10/12

I have an "original" pumpkin bread recipe I got from native Iowans almost 40 years ago. Anyone want it, e-mail me. It calls for 3 cups of sugar! So by comparison, this one is relatively sugar-light. This time of year, get a fresh pumpkin, steam it, squeeze out the pulp and use it instead of the can! - 10/9/12

Are there really no eggs in this recipe? I haven't tried it yet, but will as my husband is allergic to eggs/dairy. - 10/9/12

The flaxseed meal is in place of the eggs.

Easy to make and tasty. I added pumpkin seeds for a little bit of a crunch (store bought). I love the seasonal ingredients and the colour is festive too. It's a keeper. - 10/9/12

In place of .5 c. oil I used .25 c. oil and .25c. unsweetened applesauce. I cut the honey to .5 cup and I used 1 c. white flour and 75 c. whole wheat. Not sure how many calories I saved but it was lower than the oroginal recipe and still delicious. - 11/7/20
